This project will improve Linux kernel support for platforms with physical memory that is not contiguous, with special emphasis on ccNUMA systems.
A couple of people of asked whether I know about other work in progress
on discontig memory support, or why I don't just use the SGI code.
+ I know about some other work in the area Pat Gaughen has an
excellent page that
lists development efforts on ccNUMA systems (which invariably require
discontig mem support). If you know of other efforts, please post a
note to this project mailing list.
+ SGI folk are part of this project as we try to provide support
for new and different ways that hardware engineers find to make
software engineers lives interesting.
